Bora Bora is an idyllic island with stunning turquoise waters and iconic overwater bungalows, making it a dream destination for honeymooners and luxury travelers alike. With its breathtaking natural beauty and vibrant marine life, Bora Bora offers a paradise escape like no other, where relaxation and adventure seamlessly intertwine.

Bora Bora is a world famous playground and the perfect place to do everything or nothing at all. To help plan your time, here is our recommendation of how to organize your time on the magical island:

Day 1: Circle the Island by Water

Private motu

After a leisurely breakfast at your resort (don’t miss the fresh croissants!), pack your sunscreen and sunglasses for a day on the water. Take a boat or jet ski tour of the famed Bora Bora lagoon, stopping at various spots for snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays. The shallow and crystal-clear water makes it easy to experience the vivid coral and schools of tropical fish.

One of the most iconic activities to experience in French Polynesia is the motu picnic. A motu is a tiny islet delicately resting on the lagoon. Soft sand, coconut palms and the clear protected water of the lagoon is the perfect setting for your motu picnic consisting of grilled fish or meat, salads and the national dish of Tahiti, Poisson Cru

Day
2: Circle the Island on Land

Discover the island of Bora Bora in a 4x4 truck or while driving your own ATV, where you’ll take hidden roads up to lookouts and historical sites. Even though Bora Bora is small, the adventures along the interior roads are thrilling and filled with beautiful vantage points for photos. These overgrown forest roads wind high above the lagoon to panoramic stops that can only be described as breathtaking.

You’ll also get the chance to visit a few shopping areas for locally made products such as art, handicrafts, pearls, and fragrant Tahitian oils. Be sure to visit the famed Matira Beach or one of the many inlets surrounding Bora Bora. Celebrate your adventure by visiting one of several restaurants on the main island of Bora Bora – St. James, Fare Manuia (Lucky House), Villa Mahana to name a few.

Day 3: Polynesian Spa

Garden Villa with Pool 4The Islands of Tahiti are a world-class spa destination with many ways to pamper yourself. There is no better setting for relaxation than being surrounded by natural beauty and floral fragrances. Enjoy fresh-flower baths, invigorating rain showers, body scrubs made from Tahitian vanilla, massages above the Bora Bora lagoon or a body wrap with banana tree leaves.

Many resorts offer yoga classes in perfectly situated locations, often with Mt. Otemanu in the distance. Take advantage of the resort’s activity calendar and their sauna to rejuvenate and also relax. Follow up your activities and spa experience with some quiet time in the private lounge area of your villa.
