    Day 1 - Arrive Taipei

    On arrival in Taipei, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for a 4 night stay. The remainder of your day is free to explore at leisure, or relax.

    Day 2 - Taipei (B)

    Your day begins with a 9:00 am pick-up from your accommodation before heading to the iconic Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, one of Taipei’s most important landmarks and a symbol of the city’s modern history. Continue to Longshan Temple, a beautifully ornate and active place of worship that reflects Taiwan’s rich spiritual traditions. By late morning, arrive at the Taipei 101 area to admire the city’s famous skyscraper and explore the surrounding shopping and entertainment district (observatory visit not included).  Enjoy time for lunch at a local restaurant of your choice (own expense). In the afternoon, visit the elegant Lin An Tai Historical House, a beautifully preserved traditional residence that offers a glimpse into Taiwan’s architectural heritage. Explore the world-renowned National Palace Museum, home to one of the largest collections of Chinese imperial artifacts. As evening approaches, experience Taipei’s vibrant street food culture at the lively Shilin Night Market at 5:30 pm before returning to your hotel with a drop-off around 7:00 pm.

    Day 3 - Taipei (B)

    Your day begins with a 9:00 am pick-up from your accommodation before traveling to the Maokong area for a scenic ride on the Maokong Gondola, offering sweeping views of Taipei’s lush hills and tea-growing landscapes. After arriving in the mountains, visit the serene Chi Nan Temple, a peaceful hilltop temple known for its beautiful architecture and panoramic surroundings. Around midday, enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant (own expense). In the afternoon, continue to the picturesque Thousand Island Lake area, where emerald waters and rolling tea-covered hills create one of the region’s most scenic landscapes. Take a leisurely walk through the surrounding tea fields to learn about local cultivation and admire the tranquil countryside. The experience concludes with a traditional tea tasting and ceremony at a local tea house, where you’ll sample freshly prepared tea while learning about Taiwan’s tea culture. Afterwards, return to the city with a drop-off at your accommodation around 5:30 pm.

    Day 4 - Taipei (B)

    Your day begins with a pick-up from your accommodation before traveling to the historic mining region of Jinguashi, where you will learn about the area’s fascinating gold mining heritage and its role in Taiwan’s industrial past. Continue to explore the atmospheric ruins of the Shuinandong Mine Selection Field, an impressive abandoned mining complex that reflects the scale of the region’s former mining operations. Next, visit Cyuanji Temple, a striking mountain temple dedicated to the God of Wealth and known for its impressive statue and scenic hillside views.

    The journey then continues to the charming hillside town of Jiufen, famous for its narrow lantern-lined alleys, traditional tea houses, and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Here you will have time to explore the old streets at your own pace and enjoy lunch at a local eatery (at guests’ expense). In the afternoon, travel to Pingxi to visit Shifen Old Street, a lively railway village where shops and food stalls line the tracks. During your visit, take part in the beloved local tradition of creating and launching a sky lantern, writing wishes on the lantern before releasing it into the sky. After a memorable day exploring northern Taiwan’s historic towns and landscapes, you will return to Taipei with a drop-off at your accommodation.

    Day 5 - Depart Taipei (B)

    Your experience begins with a pick-up from your accommodation before visiting a local market or supermarket to discover the fresh ingredients commonly used in Taiwanese cuisine. After exploring the market, you’ll participate in a hands-on cooking class where you’ll learn how to prepare traditional Taiwanese dishes under the guidance of a local instructor. Once the cooking is complete, sit down to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve prepared. Afterwards, you will depart for the airport for your onward journey.
