This 12-day journey through Taiwan offers a rich exploration of the island’s diverse tea heritage, natural beauty, and cultural traditions. Beginning in Taipei, travelers are introduced to the famous Tieguanyin oolong of Maokong, where a scenic gondola ride leads to mountain tea houses and tastings that reveal the artistry behind Taiwan’s roasting techniques. The journey then continues to the countryside to discover Oriental Beauty tea, renowned for its honeyed flavor created by the unique interaction between tea leaves and tiny leafhoppers. Guests explore historic Beipu Old Street and enjoy a rare tasting of aged Puer tea before heading deeper into Taiwan’s tea regions.

Day 2 - Taipei Maokong: Tieguanyin (B)
Your tea adventure begins in the lush mountains overlooking Taipei, where the Maokong area has been producing the famous Tieguanyin oolong tea for over a century. After a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Taipei City, you’ll travel into the hills via the Maokong Gondola, enjoying sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding valleys (or a scenic drive if weather conditions require). Upon arrival, visit the Zhang Naimiao Tea Master Memorial Hall to learn about the history and legacy of Tieguanyin cultivation in Taiwan. Continue with a traditional tea tasting session where you’ll sample this heavily roasted oolong while learning about the meticulous roasting process that gives the tea its distinctive toasty and orchid-like character. Continue toward Yilan, where you’ll have time for lunch at your leisure (at guests’ expense).
