Description

Experience the very best of South Africa with an itinerary that blends the vibrant energy of Cape Town with the raw beauty and wildlife of the Pilanesberg. Begin with four nights in Cape Town, one of the world’s most spectacular coastal cities. Settle into your hotel and spend your days discovering dramatic scenery, rich culture, and diverse experiences. A private Peninsula tour takes you along Chapman’s Peak Drive to the Cape of Good Hope, with a highlight stop at Boulders Beach, home to the charming African penguin colony. Another day brings an authentic exploration of the city itself, its neighborhoods, its history, and its breathtaking natural icons—complete with a ride on the Table Mountain Cableway for unforgettable views across the Cape. You’ll also journey into the Winelands, where rolling vineyards, historic estates, and award-winning wines create a perfect blend of scenery and indulgence.

After immersing yourself in Cape Town’s coastal magic, fly north to Johannesburg and transfer to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve for a three-night stay at Ivory Tree Game Lodge. Nestled in an ancient volcanic crater, this malaria-free reserve offers some of the best wildlife viewing in South Africa. Your stay includes two safari activities each day, giving you the chance to spot the Big Five along with a wide variety of other animals and birdlife. Between game drives, savor delicious meals, relax by the pool, or simply take in the peaceful sounds of the bushveld.

This journey offers the perfect contrast—Cape Town’s ocean vistas, culture, and wine paired with the unforgettable thrill of a luxury safari. Together, they create a well-rounded South African adventure filled with beauty, discovery, and extraordinary memories.

    Day 1 - Depart USA

Make your way to the designated New York Airport for your overnight flight to Cape Town. Other gateways are available, please ask for details and pricing.

  • Day 2 - Arrive Cape Town

On arrival at Cape Town Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Bantry Bay area where you spend the next four nights. Rest of day at leisure.

    • The President Hotel  (Superior)
  • Day 3 - Cape Town (B)

Feel the layers of Cape Town’s history unfold as you pass landmarks such as the Parliament Buildings, City Hall, the Slave Lodge, and the Castle of Good Hope—originally a maritime replenishment station and now South Africa’s oldest surviving colonial structure. Enjoy a brief stop at the historically significant Grand Parade before continuing toward District Six, where you’ll hear the story of this once-vibrant community. A visit to the tranquil Company’s Garden offers a chance to stroll through its beautifully landscaped grounds.

Next, step inside a diamond-cutting studio to watch skilled artisans at work and learn about South Africa’s rich diamond and gold heritage. The journey continues past the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town Stadium, and the glamorous coastal suburbs of Sea Point, Clifton, and Camps Bay. Finally, arrive at Table Mountain, where you can choose to admire the views from the lower cable station or ascend to the summit for sweeping panoramas of the city and coastline.

    • The President Hotel  (Superior)
  • Day 4 - Cape Town (B)

Cruise along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire’s Paradise – from Clifton to Camps Bay, to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno – towards the charming working harbour of Hout Bay.  Embark on an up-close-and-personal Seal Island cruise (optional and for own account).  Wind along the legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive, hugging the cliffs and relishing the breathtaking ocean views, before arriving at our lunch spot of choice (own account) at the Cape of Good Hope Section of the Table Mountain National Park.  Meander back along the coast towards the city, visiting the historic naval port of Simon’s Town and the endearing penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach.

    • The President Hotel  (Superior)
  • Day 5 - Cape Town (B)

Enjoy a day devoted to the celebrated grape, the picturesque Winelands, and some of South Africa’s most breathtaking scenery. Rich in heritage, the region’s history is woven into every valley and vineyard you’ll encounter. Begin with a guided cellar tour and tasting, where you’ll follow the winemaking journey from grape to glass. Continue to the enchanting town of Franschhoek and pass the striking Huguenot Monument before enjoying lunch at your leisure—an ideal spot given the town’s renowned culinary reputation.

The journey then winds over the scenic Helshoogte Mountain Pass, descending into the charming university town of Stellenbosch. Take time to wander its historic streets, browse boutiques and galleries, and soak up the inviting ambiance (note: some shops and galleries may be closed on Sundays). Throughout the day, enjoy tastings at two exceptional wine estates, with the opportunity to purchase your favorite bottles to bring home as a delicious reminder of your Winelands adventure.
