Day 2: Saigon (B)
This morning, enjoy a half-day private tour of Saigon. See Notre Dame French Cathedral, the Opera House, and People’s Committee Building. Visit the War Remnants Museum before heading to famous Ben Thanh Market. Your guide can escort you back to the hotel or you can opt to stay on at the Market to have lunch and continue looking for bargains!

Day 3: Saigon: Mekong Delta (B,L)
Enjoy a full-day private tour to the Mekong Delta, the 12th longest river in the world. Firstly, visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, one of the most beautiful and famous landmarks in the region. Take a boat trip along the small canals to explore peaceful villages on the river banks. Visit a fruit garden, taste local fruits some of which you will not have seen before, drink homemade honey tea, listen to southern folk music, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Take a short horse ride around the village to go deeper into the local lifestyle and culture. Have lunch in a local garden restaurant before heading back to Saigon in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Hanoi (B)
You will be privately transferred to the airport for your morning flight to Hanoi (airfare not included). On arrival in Hanoi, you will be met and privately transferred to your accommodation for the following 2 nights. After freshening up, you will be collected from your hotel for a private afternoon tour of the highlights of Hanoi. Learn more about Vietnam’s 4000 year history at the Museum of History. Visit Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple, The Huc Bridge and Quan Thanh Temple. You will be returned to your hotel at the conclusion of your tour.

Day 5: Hanoi (B,D)
Morning at leisure to explore Hanoi independently. In the late afternoon, you will be collected from your hotel for a traditional Water Puppet show and local dinner. The tradition of water puppet theater stems from a time when rice paddy fields were flooded and villagers would make entertainment by standing in the waist-deep water with the puppets performing over the water. Shows at this modern theatre are performed in a pool of water as the stage for the puppets. The puppets are controlled by eight puppeteers hiding behind a bamboo screen. The renowned Thang Long Water Puppet show is considered to be one of the cultural highlights of Northern Vietnam dating back to a tradition that first started in the Red River Delta. You will be returned to your hotel at the end of the evening.

Day 6: Ha Long Bay Cruise (B,L,D)
You will be collected from your hotel and privately transferred to beautiful Ha Long Bay where you will embark on your boat cruise of this scenic bay dotted with hundreds of karsts that rise dramatically from the turquoise waters. Floating fishing villages and local people selling fruit and souvenirs from their small boats add to the spectacle. Your cruise team will explain the program, which will include extensive sightseeing as well as optional activities such as a sunset cocktail party, a cooking lesson, a morning Tai Chi lesson and kayaking. Guests who seek privacy can take their meals alone. Lunch, dinner and a light breakfast are included in your cruise.
