    Day 1 - Arrive Adelaide

    On arrival in Adelaide, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 3-night stay. The remainder of your day is free to explore at leisure.

    Spend a relaxed and indulgent day exploring the best of the Barossa on this intimate full-day tour combining wine, food, and local charm. Begin with a tasting at the award-winning Pindarie Wines, where a family winemaker shares the property’s story in a rustic sandstone cellar door, followed by morning tea with vineyard views.

    Enjoy some free time to browse the boutique shops and galleries in the charming town of Tanunda, then take in sweeping views from Mengler Hill Lookout. Lunch is a highlight at Lambert Estate, where you'll savor a two-course meal with wine tastings, family stories, and stunning vineyard scenery.

    Day 7 - The Ghan - Adelaide - Alice Springs (B,L,D)

    Transfer to Adelaide Rail Station and board The Ghan in Adelaide for an incredible showcase journey of inland Australia. As the train leaves the city heading for the Flinders Ranges and beyond, the dramatic changes in landscape from pastoral land to arid outback scenes will ignite your imagination. Lunch is served on board – this is the first of many superb, chef-prepared gourmet meals, showcasing regional flair and seasonal flavors. Spend the rest of the day settling into life on train and getting to know your fellow travelers, and as afternoon turns to evening, dinner service begins with another chef-prepared gourmet meal and selection of Australian wines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages for you to choose. 

  • Alice Springs Town

    Day 8 - The Ghan - Alice Springs

    After a night of fine dining and relaxed comfort aboard this iconic train, wake to a stunning outback sunrise at Marla — a remote stop near the Northern Territory border and gateway to the Oodnadatta Track. Surrounded by red earth and warmed by a bonfire, take a moment to soak in the solitude of the Australian desert.

    Back on board, enjoy brunch as the train travels toward Alice Springs. Here, a variety of Off Train Experiences await — from mountain biking over ochre trails and exploring local attractions, to cultural visits at Standley Chasm, wildlife encounters at Desert Park, or the natural beauty of Simpson’s Gap. For a bird’s-eye view, upgrade to a scenic helicopter flight.

    Return to the train in the late afternoon with time to relax before dinner.

    Day 9 - Darwin (B,L)

    Your day begins in the tropical north as the scenery shifts to rugged gorges and flowing canyon streams. A boat cruise through Nitmiluk Gorge offers a breathtaking glimpse of this Top End wonder, enriched by stories from the Indigenous Jawoyn people that highlight its deep cultural significance. For a different view, an optional helicopter flight reveals the gorge from above.

    Alternatively, the Katherine Outback Experience provides a behind-the-scenes look at life on a remote cattle station.

    After your adventure, reboard the train for the final leg to Darwin, where your rail journey ends. Transfer to your hotel for a 4-night stay.

    Day 10 - Darwin (B)

    This morning, explore the paths once walked by pioneers as our local guides share the rich history of their hometown — from the World War II bombings and Cyclone Tracy to the vibrant city it is today. See restored landmarks like the old Court House, Police Station, Browns Mart, and the ruins of the Old Palmerston Town Hall. You'll also pass Government House, Parliament House, and the Northern Territory Supreme Court.

     

    Along the way, discover hidden gems, snap photos of striking public art, historic buildings, unique architecture, lush tropical plants, and local wildlife.

    The remainder of the day is at leisure.

    Day 11 - Darwin (B,L)

    Experience the best of Kakadu in a day with expert guides from Kakadu in Day. This all-inclusive tour features scenic flights, a Yellow Water Cruise, a visit to the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre, and national park entry fees.

    Start with a 90-minute scenic flight, complete with expert commentary, as you soar over the Adelaide and Mary Rivers, winding Alligator Rivers, vast floodplains, and the rugged Arnhem Land Plateau.

    Next, cruise the Yellow Water Billabong—one of Kakadu’s most iconic wetlands—on a guided 90-minute tour through rich wildlife habitats and striking landscapes.

    Enjoy a peaceful lunch at Cooinda Lodge before visiting the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Created by Kakadu’s Traditional Owners, the centre offers deep insight into the lives and traditions of the Bininj/Mungguy people, along with a gallery and gift shop showcasing local art.

    End your day with a 45-minute return flight to Darwin.

    Day 12 - Darwin (B,L)

    You'll be picked up from your hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle before heading along back roads to the Finniss River and into Tess’s family country. Here, you'll explore the riverside environment and learn about seasonal bush resources and Indigenous cultural connections to the land.

    At Marchinbar (also known as Bamboo Creek*), discover the old tin mine and hear stories of pioneering Aboriginal ancestors.

    Next, enjoy morning tea at Woolaning Spring* on private family land—relax by the rainforest stream, take a refreshing dip, or explore the remains of a historic sawmill camp.

    After a freshly prepared lunch featuring wild-caught barramundi, crocodile, and kangaroo, head to Wangi Falls. Swim* in the plunge pool or explore the rainforest walking tracks, home to birds and fruit bats.

    Continue to Florence Falls, where a short walk offers stunning views. Adventurous visitors can descend 135 steps to the plunge pool below or enjoy gentler access to warm upper pools.

    Return to Darwin in comfort, arriving in time to enjoy the sunset, markets, and vibrant evening atmosphere.
