Day 3 - Freycinet (B)
This morning, collect your rental car and make your way to Freycinet National Park. Take a scenic journey across the towering, elegant Tasman Bridge, passing through charming country townships like Sorrell, Dunalley, and Murdenna. Pause to marvel at the stunning Tessellated Pavement before continuing past Pirates Bay. Cross the narrow Eaglehawk Neck, one of the isthmuses that helped make Port Arthur the infamous 'island' convict prison. Along the way, keep an eye out for roadside fruit stalls offering freshly picked produce at pick-your-own prices as you traverse the fertile farming lands.
At Port Arthur, consider purchasing a guided tour at the visitor center. Immerse yourself in the elegant Georgian landscapes, complete with ancient oak trees, picket fences, and long, sweeping drives leading to quaint cottages, vibrant gardens, and a dazzling array of seasonal exotic trees. This morning, cruise the spectacular coastline of Freycinet National Park from Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay. Discover a coast dotted with white sandy beaches. Explore the inner passage of remote Schouten Island before heading into the Tasman Sea towards the iconic Wineglass Bay. Lookout for various hidden sea caves, blowholes and waterfalls amongst the sheer granite cliffs. Search for abundant wildlife, including seals, dolphins, migrating whales and seabirds. Enjoy a light ploughman's style lunchbox at anchor taking in the beautiful coastline. The remainder of the day is spent relaxing or explore at your leisure.

Day 5 - Launceston (B,L)
Freycinet to Launceston goes from the east coast, over the elephant Pass, down the Fingal Valley and into Launceston through the historic village of Evandale. It is about 3 hours’ drive point to point, but if you allow time to look around at different stops it will take all day.
Arriving in Launceston by 1PM, make your way to Josef Chromy Wines for a guided wine tasting with the Cellar Door team before enjoying a 2-course lunch with paired wines at the hatted Josef Chromy Restaurant.

Day 6 - Cradle Mountain (B)
Travel through farmland and history at Longford and Deloraine, then cuts inland to the town of Sheffield and up onto the Alpine Plateau to Cradle Mountain. The drive takes around 3 hours; however you can spend the whole day if you stop along the way at some of the villages.
This evening make your way to Devils @ Cradle Mountain for an educational and interactive evening with the After Dark Deeding. Learn about the conservation work before heading outside amongst the large breeding group of Tasmanian Devils. Your guide will enter the enclosures and feed a number of these animals whilst interpreting their behavior and answering any questions you may have.

Day 7 - Cradle Mountain (B)
Today is free to explore Cradle Mountain. Visit Dove Lake, a glacial lake located in a spectacular setting beneath the craggy peaks of Cradle Mountain will surely be one of the highlights of your day. Leave the alpine wilderness of Cradle Mountain and travel through the old mining towns of Zeehan and Roseberry towards the quaint fishermen’s village of Strahan. The drive time is just under 2 hours, but there is plenty to see along the way.

Embark on the Spirit of the Wild for a memorable Gordon River Cruise from Strahan. Begin with a visit to Hells Gates, where Macquarie Harbour meets the Southern Ocean, and learn about local salmon and trout farming at nearby fish farms. Cruise the serene Gordon River using the vessel’s quiet electric motors, surrounded by the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage wilderness.

The drive from Strahan to Hobart take approximately 4-4.5 hours. The journey follows the A10 Lyell Highway, a sealed road that winds through Tasmania's diverse landscapes, including mountainous terrain and valleys. Enjoy the changing scenery along the way and be sure to stop along the way to experience small country town and villages.
