Journey to the scenic mountain landscapes of Hakone, where you'll follow the ancient Old Tokaido Road once travelled by samurai and shoguns. Sip traditional amazake, walk beneath towering cedar trees and, weather permitting, admire spectacular views of Mount Fuji before relaxing in one of Japan’s renowned hot spring regions.
Continue by Shinkansen to Kyoto, Japan’s cultural heart, where geisha districts, Zen temples and centuries-old traditions come to life. Wander the atmospheric lanes of Gion, visit iconic landmarks including Fushimi Inari Shrine and Kinkaku-ji, and enjoy time to explore independently or venture to nearby Nara.

Travel by Shinkansen to Hakone, where your guide introduces you to one of Japan's most historic walking routes.
