The vacation begins in Beijing, where imperial history comes alive through visits to iconic landmarks such as Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the elegant Summer Palace. Beyond the grand monuments, the experience deepens with an excursion to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, set amid lush mountain scenery, and a stroll through historic hutongs by rickshaw, offering insight into traditional local life.

Travel continues to Xi’an, once the eastern terminus of the Silk Road. Here, the journey highlights China’s ancient military and cultural legacy with the remarkably preserved City Wall and the vibrant Muslim Quarter. A visit to the world-renowned Terracotta Warriors provides a powerful glimpse into the ambition and artistry of China’s first emperor, complemented by the serene Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a symbol of Buddhist heritage.

From Xi’an, the route leads to Yichang and the mighty Yangtze River. After exploring the Three Gorges Museum and experiencing regional Ba–Chu culture, the journey transitions into a relaxing Yangtze River cruise. Sailing through the dramatic Three Gorges—Xiling, Wu, and Qutang—guests enjoy spectacular scenery, shore excursions to cultural and natural sites, and views of the monumental Three Gorges Dam.

After disembarking in Chongqing, the journey continues south to Guilin and Yangshuo, famed for their karst landscapes. Highlights include the Longji Rice Terraces, a Li River cruise through postcard-perfect scenery, rural countryside exploration, and the lively atmosphere of West Street. The experience then shifts to Shanghai, showcasing classical gardens, futuristic skyscrapers, and the historic Bund.     Day 1 - Arrive Beijing

    Upon arrival in Beijing Capital International Airport, you will be met and greet by your local tour guide and transferred to hotel. The remainder of your day is free to relax or explore at leisure.

    Day 2 - Beijing (B,L)

    Today’s city tour in Beijing includes a visit to Tiananmen Square, the largest city-center square in the world. From there, the group proceeds on foot to the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City (closed on Mondays) to explore the magnificent palace complex, the former residence of China’s emperors and a symbol of imperial power. Covering 250 acres and containing more than 9,000 rooms, the palace was closed to all but the highest nobility for centuries. It has been open to the public only since 1949 and has since become one of the country’s most important tourist attractions.

    In the afternoon, the tour continues to the Summer Palace. As the largest and best-preserved royal park in China, it has had a profound influence on Chinese horticulture and landscape design. Renowned for its natural scenery and cultural heritage, it is widely known as the “Museum of Royal Gardens.”

    Day 3 - Beijing (B,L)

    After breakfast, the tour proceeds to Beijing’s most famous landmark—the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Located in the northern part of Huairou County, approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Beijing, this section is distinguished by its solid construction and unique design, featuring 22 blockhouses and watchtowers. It is further enhanced by its picturesque natural surroundings, with mountains densely covered in lush greenery and ancient trees. A cable car ride is arranged for both the ascent and descent of the wall.

    Later, the group returns to the city to visit the Hutong area. Today’s activities are designed to provide insight into local daily life, including a rickshaw ride through the historic lanes and a visit to a local family. This experience offers a different perspective of Beijing beyond its modern and bustling city atmosphere.

    Day 4 - Xi'an (B)

    You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Xi’an. Upon arrival, you will meet your local guide and visit the ancient City Wall, also known as the Fortifications of Xi’an. It is the most well-preserved city wall in China and one of the largest and most complete ancient military defensive systems in the world.

    The tour then continues to the Muslim Quarter, the heart of Xi’an’s Muslim community. Spanning several blocks and home to more than 20,000 residents, the area is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, traditional Muslim cuisine, and bustling food and souvenir markets.

    Day 5 - Xi'an (B,L)

    This morning you will drive to the east suburb to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. The great archeological excavation of Qin (221BC-206BC) unfolded a strong army of altogether 8,000 life-size pottery soldiers, horses, chariots and weapons arranged in battle formations symbolically, guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. It is regarded as “The Eighth Wonder of the World”. You will also visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, this solemn ancient pagoda was originally built in 652 during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It holds the old Buddhist relics and classics taken from India by the hierarch Xuanzang. The pagoda and its surrounding areas nowadays become a popular resort for both the locals and the tourists.

    Day 6 - Yichang (B,L)

    You will be transferred from the hotel to the airport for an early-morning flight to Yichang. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and begin a city tour, including a visit to the Three Gorges Museum. Here, you will gain insight into the century-long history of the Three Gorges Project, hydropower technology, and enjoy views from the dam observation deck.

    You will also visit the Tribe of the Three Gorges, a living showcase of Ba–Chu folk culture. Traditional stilted houses, ancient wooden sailing ships, and the scenic Gorge River landscape create a striking setting. During the visit, you may enjoy performances recognized as intangible cultural heritage, such as Tujia songs and dances and shadow puppet shows, offering an authentic experience of local river customs.

    After the tour, you will be transferred to the meeting point designated by the cruise line. The cruise company will arrange a shuttle transfer from the Yichang Central Cruise Terminal to the nearby Maoping Pier for embarkation on your Victoria cruise ship. Shuttle services operate on a first-come, first-served basis from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm (winter schedule: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, until the bus is full).

    Day 7 - Yangtze River Cruise (B,L,D) - Three Gorges

    Visit the Three Gorges Dam, which spans the Yangtze River at Sandouping in Xiling Gorge. It is the world’s largest power station. Later today, sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles) and deepest of the Three Gorges.

    Additional optional shore excursions (river conditions permitting) to Tribe of the Three Gorges or Hometown of Qu Yuan, offering interesting glimpses into the culture and history of the Xiling Gorge region, and through the recently-completed unique ship lock with a ship lift, the world’s largest; it will be transited in about 40 minutes to an hour.

    Day 8 - Yangtze River Cruise (B,L,D) - Small Gorges

    Transfer to another vessel for an excursion through Shennong Stream small gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, but very impressive. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to the gorges of Goddess Stream. Enter the 25-mile long Wu Gorge, known for its quiet beauty, forest covered mountains, and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices. Then sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic gorge. 

    Additional optional shore excursions (river conditions permitting) to White Emperor City (daytime), an ancient city overlooking the western end of Qutang Gorge, and a performance of the acclaimed hi-tech spectacle ”Return to the Three Gorges” (evening).

    Day 9 - Yangtze River Cruise (B,L,D) - Snow Jade Cave

    Shore excursion to and scenic Snow Jade Cave/Xiao Guan Shan Folk Culture Park. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Shibaozhai, with its impressive wooden pagoda.

    Additional optional shore excursion (river conditions permitting) to Fengdu’s “Ghost City”, known for its statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill.

    Day 10 - Guilin (B,L)

    Disembark at picturesque Chongqing, the “Mountain City”. Meet your local guide who will take you for a short city tour to experience this magic 8-D city before you take the high-speed train to Guilin. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transfer to hotel.

    Day 11 - Guilin (B,L)

    Enjoy an excursion to Longji Rice Terraces about 50 miles away from Guilin. Longji Rice Terraces, literally Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces, gains its name because the rice terraces resemble a dragon’s scales and the mountain range looks like the backbone of a dragon. The construction of incredible Longji Rice Terraces started in the Yuan Dynasty and is reputed as one of the most beautiful rice terraces in the world. You will have a chance to learn to make bamboo rice with the ethnic minority villager. In the late afternoon return to Guilin and visit the Reed Flute Cave. As a brilliant Karst cave marked on almost all travel itineraries, Reed Flute Cave got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it, with which people make flutes. Actually, inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition. Illuminated by colored lighting, the fantastic spectacle is found in many variations. Walking through the serried stone pillars, you feast their eyes on changing spots, may feel in a paradise where the Gods live.

    Day 12 - Yangshuo (B,L,D)

    This morning you will be transferred to the pier for Li River cruise (4 star cruise) from Guilin to Yangshuo. This is the center piece of Li River, the gorgeous Karst peaks give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river. Water buffalo patrol the fields, peasants reap rice paddies, school kids and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts.

    Upon disembarkation in Yangshuo. Since being introduced by 'Lonely Planet' in 1980, Yangshuo greets an increasing number of visitors annually. The rippling Li River traverses the county and brings it breath-taking natural beauty. You will visit the West Street, the most popular site, then you can choose to ride a bicycle or take the car transfer around the countryside of Yangshuo to enjoy and peaceful scenery. Stay one night in Yangshuo.

    Tonight you will have an authentic dinner in a local boutique restaurant.

    Day 13 - Shanghai (B)

    This morning after breakfast you will be transferred from Yangshuo to Guilin airport for flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to hotel. The rest of day is free for you to explore the city on own.

    Day 14 - Shanghai (B,L)

    Explore Shanghai on a City Highlights including the Yuyuan Garden (closed on Mon), one of the most famous classic gardens in Shanghai. You will also visit the Old Bazzar around the garden. You will visit the Shanghai Tower on the observatory, which is 632 meters tall. It offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Shanghai's skyline. Equipped with the world's fastest double-decker elevators, visitors can ascend to 546 meters in just 55 seconds. The observation deck features interactive displays, a sky café, and a transparent glass floor on the 119th floor, providing visitors with a unique and thrilling experience.     Enjoy a half-day Hong Kong Island tour with the highlights: Victoria Harbour, a world-famous natural harbor, renowned for its glittering skyline and iconic symphony of lights show, offering breathtaking views of Hong Kong’s skyscrapers lining both sides of the water. You will experience one-way peak tram, a historic funicular railway in operation since 1888, ascending steeply to Victoria Peak with stunning vistas of the harbor and city unfolding along the ride.
